What it costs to accept payments from AI agents
With Nevarn a merchant pays 0.5% of each settled payment an AI agent makes, with no monthly fee. A refused, failed or reverted payment costs nothing. The payment reaches the merchant's wallet in full, and the fee is recorded in the merchant's books as owed to Nevarn, so every payment's cost is visible.
What is charged
Merchants pay 0.5% of each settled payment, with no monthly fee. The same rate applies whether the agent pays through a UCP checkout or straight to an x402 endpoint through Nevarn's facilitator.
Nothing before settlement is charged. An agent can discover the merchant, search the catalogue and open a checkout session without a fee; a checkout Decionis refuses never settles, and a payment that fails or reverts on chain is not booked.
A worked example
An agent buys a $40 dataset and pays 40 USDC. The merchant's wallet receives all 40 USDC. Nevarn's double-entry ledger books $40 of revenue against that wallet, and a $0.20 platform fee as an expense owed to Nevarn. The fee is never taken out of the payment on chain.
An agent that prepays a deposit is charged once, when the deposit settles. Vouchers it later spends against that deposit are not charged again.
Teams running bots and agents
Merchant pricing is separate from the plans for teams whose own bots and agents trade or spend through Nevarn. Those plans are priced by active mandates and rulings, from $199 a month; the full list is on nevarn.com/pricing.
Where the rollout stands
The complete UCP discovery and checkout path is built and tested, but remains feature-gated and disabled by default. As of 1 Nov 2026, Nevarn does not run a live UCP merchant network, has no external merchant adoption to report, and supports payment only on configured USDC paths.
Questions people ask
Is there a monthly fee for merchants?
No. Merchants pay 0.5% of each settled payment, with no monthly fee.
Do refused or failed agent payments cost anything?
No. Only a settled payment is charged. A checkout Decionis refuses never settles, and a payment that fails or reverts on chain is not booked, so neither carries a fee.
How is the fee recorded?
The payment reaches the merchant's wallet in full. Nevarn's double-entry ledger records the fee as an expense in the merchant's books and as an amount owed to Nevarn, so it never splits the payment on chain.
